WARCRAFT CROSSING USD400M WORLDWIDE BOX OFFICE
It is inevitable that the movie industry these days has shifted from relying purely on local box office in the early stages to global worldwide box office at present day. A poor movie performance locally like Warcraft, a video game adaptation will surely be doomed if it was made 10 or 15 years ago. Critics typically will just brush off any movies which are originated from video games probably to save their own skin or maybe their ego or possible their job integrity. Warcraft has now earned $412m worldwide, with another six final territories opening this weekend.
It was $221m
in China and $147m overseas elsewhere which brought the film crossing the $400m
mark worldwide becoming the first ever video game movie to do so. Warcraft was
made at an estimated $160m which is a considerable big budget movie for its
genre. As for now, most Hollywood studios will certainly hoping to have their
movie release in the China market as an insurance just in case it flop back in
their own territory.
